Lehtisaari - Holiday home for all visitors
The island for 2024 will be closed due to construction work. The renewed Lehtisaari will be reopened to all in summer 2025.
Lehtisaari is a small but cozy island located in the lake Tuomiojärvi near the centre of Jyväskylä. It is a place for leisure activities upheld by the Evangelical Lutheran Parish of Jyväskylä. Everything is free including transportation and sauna.
Lehtisaari is an electricity-free and a drain-free island that functions in a nature-respecting way. Smoking and drinking alcohol are not allowed.

Opening hours and timetables
Lehtisaari is open from June 10th to August 13th. Opening hours are from 3 pm to 9 pm on weekdays and from 13 pm to 9 pm on weekends. Boats to Lehtisaari leave from the dock near Viitaniemi beach. Evening prayer is held every day.

For groups
It is possible to book Lehtisaari for your group during or outside the opening hours. It is possible to use sauna and grills during the visit. Different activities can be ordered from Lehtisaari employees beforehand. Activities could be for example yard games, canoeing or accompaniment.
The employees will take care of boat transportations, sauna and other arrangements. Booking is free, but we gladly receive toilet paper and ecological/ fair trade soaps, coffee or tea.
The reservation needs to be done at least 2 weeks before the hoped-for date. If you want to visit Lehtisaari with your group, you must contact the employees. Remember to contact us also in case of cancellation.
